Morning Departure in the Capital

Greet our passionate guides in the heart of Wellington and start your tour to some famous movie locations and stunning views of the capital.Fans: Where Frodo and his companions hid from the menacing Black Riders.

Magic Movie Land

Visit the legendary WETA Workshop, where movie-making takes center stage. Explore the museum and original collectibles. Then, embark on a behind-the-scenes tour to witness film props and weaponry. Next we trace the serene path of the Hutt River that meanders its way into the see not far from where you arrive. Fans: Stand on the shores of the majestic River Anduin where Frodo and Sam paddled their way to Mordor.

Lunchtime

We treat you to our Lord of the Rings-themed lunch at one of our favorite cafés. With FREE WiFi you can share your favorite movie moments and characters with fellow travelers and friends at home. Fans: Indulge in delectable food and drink fit for a hobbit's appetite.

Trace Frodos steps in Rivendell

After a refreshing break, our journey continues to the enchanting Kaitoke Regional Forest Park, home to the mystical forest of Rivendell. Fans: Retrace Frodo's steps as he recuperated from his wound and where the Fellowship was forged. Don't miss the chance to strike your best elf pose beneath the iconic Legolas Tree, a photo opportunity you won't want to pass up.

The Gardens of Isengard

After discovering some stunning New Zealand rainforest locations and the the beautiful steam where trout and native birdlife can be observed we visit some more urban gardens use by Peter. Fans: You will visit the Gardens of Isengard, where Gandalf's fateful meeting with Saruman took place, and the Ents launched their assault on Orthanc. You'll also glimpse the haunting site of the Orcs' Chant, and the destruction of the gardens of Isengard.

After an eventful day with lots of stunning memories and photographs to take home you will be returned to your central Wellington iSite around 4.30 pm.

As we embark on this epic quest, you'll be greeted by one of our passionate guides. all of whom have their own tales to share about the making of Lord of the Rings and other famous movies. Some of them, as many Wellingtonians acted during the productions.

Journey to the Heart of Middle-earth

First we make our way to Mt Victoria, where you'll be transported to the serene landscapes of the Outer Shire, the very place where Frodo and his companions hid from the menacing Black Riders. Explore other locations that doubled as Hobbiton and Bree, adding depth to your Middle-earth experience.

Weta Workshop: Behind-the-Scenes Magic

We visit the legendary Weta Workshop, where the enchantment of movie-making takes center stage. capture memorable photos of the incredible exhibits. Lern about the past and present achievements of the famous Weta Workshop in a Captivating Documentary. Then, embark on a behind-the-scenes tour to witness film props and weaponry. learn their creation secrets & meet some of the talented artists behind these iconic pieces.
